 Commissioner Anne N. Brown is the resident Coordinator for the Lawrenceburg Housing Authority, Director of the Safe and Smart Center, former Lawrence County teacher and School Board member
Elected to the 16th District in August of 2006. Member of the Budget, Tourism, Technology, Nonprofit/Charitable and Chair of the School Board Liaison Committee. Member of Lions Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Member of the Lawrenceburg Beer Board, Lawrence County Health Council, and Education/Workforce Development P-16 Council. Member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Commissioner Brown’s parents were the late W.H. "Bill" Newell and Dorothy Jackson Newell. Husband was the late Edward Brown, the county commissioner for this district in 1986-1990. Sister, Sandra Newell (deceased). Brother, Butch Newell of Cordova, TN. I have two living step-children, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. There is no such thing as step grandchildren in my eyes. I am very honored to represent the residents of the 16th District. I want to vote on all resolutions that come before the commission as the majority request that I do.
