Jerry Dryden is a county commissioner representing the seventh district in Lawrence County. He is currently serving his fourth term as commissioner and his second stint as the Chairman of the County Commission.
Dryden is a lifelong resident of Lawrence County. He attended Freed-Hardeman University where he earned his B.S. and attended Trevecca Nazarene University where he earned his Masters in Education and Certification in Guidance and Counseling. Since graduating college, he has been employed as a teacher, counselor and principal. He is currently the principal at New Prospect School, which recently received an "exemplary school" designation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools review committee.
He was first elected to the county commission in 1994 and has been re-elected to the position since that time. He served as Chairman of the County Commission from 1998-1999 and was again selected to hold the position for the term beginning in 2006.
Dryden is married to the former Linda Sides. They have three daughters: Bridgett, Shonta and Jessica.
He is a Minister at Ephesus Church of Christ in Giles County and is a member of the Lawrenceburg Lions Club..
