Franks is in his first term representing District 11 (Summertown precinct), having been elected on August 5, 2010. Franks is a graduate of Summertown High School and Columbia State Community College and attended MTSU. He has been employed by the Federal Government, Department of the Treasury, since 1987, where moved upt the ranks to his current position as a Senior Territory Manager. Franks and his wife, Patty (Belew) Franks, have 3 children – Cory, a graduate of MTSU and working in the computer networking field, Emily, a student at MTSU and Neylan, a Senior at Summertown High School (Class of 2011). Patty is a graduate of MTSU and is a teacher at Summertown Elementary School. Franks has been active in the Summertown community for a number of years, having served 12 years as an officer and director of the Summertown Dixie Baseball and Softball leagues – including 7 years as President, he has served 13 years as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Summertown Eagles Athletic Booster Club, and he has served as President of Mallory’s Way Foundation, Inc., since its inception in 2008. Franks is also a second-generation FAA Licensed Private Pilot and co-owner of a Cessna 172 aircraft. |
